TallShips® LA!
Lots of volunteers will be needed August 11-14 when the Tall Ships Challenge® comes to the Port of Los Angeles again!
TallShips® LA! organizers are looking for new volunteers and experienced volunteers to help ashore and with ships, for as few as two 2-hour shifts for one or more days, Thursday through Sunday. Needs include working with ship liaisons and visiting crews, helping the public to board ships, staffing booths, selling merchandise, giving information, running nautical demonstrations and entertainment, taking care of lost and found, first aid, ships’ mail, ship tours, day sails, crew hospitality - especially with Spanish-speaking crews and guests, running errands, etc. (FIND OUT MORE)

Volunteer Meetings: Call For Info
Sign up through the toll-free number 877-TAL-SHIP (877-825-7447) or with the L.A. Maritime Institute (LAMI) office at 310-833-6055. Volunteer meetings will be in the TopSail Room at LAMI, Berth 84, Foot of 6th Street, San Pedro, CA 90731. (At the foot of 6th Street, ˝ block to the left of the LA Maritime Museum.)
Taste In San Pedro Booth - LAMI volunteers can find out more about TallShips LA! at our booth at the Taste In San Pedro on August 6th and 7th.
Volunteer orientations will be held at convenient times before and during the event. Earn a TallShips® LA! T-shirt for giving at least four hours time.
TopSail Youth Program - Join Us On The Water!
Beyond TallShips® LA!, volunteers are needed to help with LAMI’s TopSail Youth Program year-round! LAMI trains volunteers to sail our tall ships with youth school groups, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and other "youth-of-all-ages" on a year-round basis.
